In 1978 while attending TASB Summer Leadership Institute, Dr. Charles Matthews met with African American Trustees proposing a plan to establish an organization where African American Board Members would discuss the issues effecting not only African American students but African American teachers and board members as well.
TCBSBM is the premier professional society for school board members, educators, administrators and allies to support and advocate for African-American students and staff.
TCBSBM is a non- profit 501 (C)(3) organization that speaks on behalf of quality education for all children in the state of Texas. We offer a variety of opportunities and levels for companies, corporations and organizations to support the Caucus through financial contributions.
